Damage due to vibration and temperature of rolling bearings

Time:2024-03-15

Rolling bearing vibration is very sensitive to bearing damage, such as peeling, indentation, rust, crack, wear, etc. will be reflected in the rolling bearing vibration measurement. Therefore, the vibration can be measured by using a special bearing vibration measuring device (frequency analyzer, etc.) The size, the specific situation of the anomaly cannot be inferred from the frequency points. The measured value varies depending on the operating conditions of the rolling bearing or the installation position of the sensor. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze and compare the measured values of each machine in advance to determine the judgment standard.

The temperature of a rolling bearing can generally be inferred by the temperature outside the bearing. If the temperature of the outer ring of a rolling bearing can be directly measured using an oil hole, it is more appropriate.

Generally, the temperature of rolling bearings gradually rises with the beginning of bearing operation, and reaches a steady state after 1-2 hours. The normal temperature of rolling bearings varies with the machine's heat capacity, heat dissipation, speed and load. If the lubrication and mounting parts are suitable, the bearing temperature will rise sharply and abnormally high temperatures will occur. At this time, the operation must be stopped and necessary precautions must be taken.

The use of a thermal sensor can monitor the operating temperature of the rolling bearing at any time, and realize automatic alarm or stop when the temperature exceeds the specified value to prevent a shaft accident.

High temperatures often indicate an abnormal situation. High temperatures are also harmful to rolling bearing lubricants. Sometimes overheating of rolling bearings can be attributed to bearing lubricants. Long-term continuous rotation of the rolling bearing at a temperature exceeding 125 ° C will reduce the rolling bearing life. Causes of high temperature rolling bearings include: insufficient lubrication or excessive lubrication, lubricants. Contains impurities, excessive load, rolling bearing damage rings, insufficient clearance, high friction caused by oil seals, etc.

Therefore, it is necessary to continuously monitor the rolling bearing temperature, whether it is measuring the rolling bearing itself or other important parts. If the operating conditions remain the same, any change in temperature can indicate a malfunction.

The importance of rolling bearings means that when they are damaged, it will cause the equipment to stop. Therefore, it is best to install a temperature detector for such rolling bearings. Under normal circumstances, the rolling bearing has a natural temperature rise immediately after being lubricated or relubricated and lasts for one to two days.
